Why support Tharoor?

Why are some people like Shekhar Kapur trying to portray that Shashi Tharoor is the victim in the IPL-Kochi team controversy? Some have even created SupportTharoor.com and SupportTharoor.org websites. (I couldn't access either of the websites, but both of them have been registered and Kapur mentioned SupportTharoor.org in one of his tweets.)

Is there any doubt about the fact that Tharoor helped a business consortium win an IPL team in which his friend, fiance or whatever was offered "sweat stake" in violation of the law of the country? What made Sunanda Pushkar worth Rs70 crore? And why did Tharoor choose to help a business consortium win an IPL team? Does it sound in any way similar to a minister helping an infrastructure firm win a road project?

Film-maker Shekhar Kapur tweets:
Shashi Tharoor resigns and the wrong people win.
Why does Kapur think that Tharoor is on the side of truth? The same question should be raised before the Bharatiya Janata Party when it issues a statement saying Tharoor's resignation is victory of the truth.

@ManuVilsan tweets:
Do you know, "Lalith Modi" changed his name as "Truth". When Tharoor resigned, the BJP said "it is the victory of Truth".
What anyone can easily guess from whatever bits of information that's been out in media, IPL commissioner Lalit Kumar Modi and Tharoor had a symbiotic relationship, both benefiting from the other, till some differences arose. That's when Modi made a small hole in the can of leeches, thinking the blood-sucking worms will only hurt the now-former junior minister. He didn't realize that he was in the same pond as Tharoor and releasing the leeches in the pond will ultimately hurt him too. (By raging a war against a minister, did Modi irk the government?)

Tharoor, a novice politician (not a leader; I can't find any leader in Indian politics), faltered trying to jump through the hooves of corruption and politics. A free stake to his friend was easy to pin point. Neither he nor his friend could satisfy the media and the top Congress leadership with their answers as to why the stake was offered for free.

To top it all, Tharoor didn't know that it's a sacred custom in Indian politics to offer your resignation if any allegations are levelled against you. Even some politicians had been reported saying that Tharoor made a mistake by refusing to resign. If the Tharoor would have offered his resignation saying he doesn't want to hold the office till it's proved that the allegations of corruption are baseless and inspired by ulterior motives, he would have earned a brownie point. His defiance to the custom firmly entrenched in the Indian polity, must have irked the top Congress leaders.

When Shekhar Kapur tweets that we have lost the "best foreign minister India could have had", I wonder what inspired him to say so. Is he trying to weave a nice script with Tharoor as the protagonist leader trying to fight the murky, stinking waters of the country's politics? There's just one problem; Tahroor isn't clean enough. Nor he is as talented as Kapur claims in his tweets. Does anyone remember one sensible statement from Tharoor? All that I could make from his statements and lifestyle that he's one person living in disconnect from the people of India, busy tweeting and enjoying the benefits of a minister for free.

If people think that Tharoor could have given a new direction to the Indian politics, they are mistaken. The change in the Indian politics won't come from a person living a luxurious life as a top diplomat for an organization that claims to be working for the benefit of humanity. Of course, not from a person who thinks cricket is a medium for social change. Let's wait for Tharoor's tweet for his idea of "being the change".

Sashi Tharoor did err in associating with IPL, ( directly or indirectly)- a circus more than sport-. He did not benefit financially, unlike many a minister, in the cabinet and out of it Pawar being a case in point.
He does hold a moral responsibility in getting a private consortium clinch a deal, which he failed to acknowledge - for which he had to pay the price.. No tears on account for this..
As far as the commie comrades, these pseudo-intellectuals are the scum of Indian polity. Double faced and deeply corrupted, they spew out outdated ideas at every opportunity, just to be "seen" than heard.Flush them down the toilet...
Let us also not forget the intense jealousy displayed by his Mallu brethren in Parliament, rivaled only by that from people north of the Vindhyas..

This is a Support for Mr. Tharoor.

He didn’t play with Public Money.

If he is going to marry Sunanda, what is the problem for Indian Public? It is better than other politicians going with somebody in darkness.

He did a main mistake; he touched or disturbed the main politic bigwigs’ money theory. Money theory and dirty politics IN GAMES.

He is a literate and a proud Indian.

He was a Minister with brain. He was a minister knows to speak the truth.

He was a Minister doesn’t know the Politics and more importantly the Licking theory in politics.

He is not a nominated MP, he is elected by the people.

Another innocent man crucified in indian parliment/india. The real culprit/robber still free showing his muscle/money power. Indian parliament realeased the robber just like the barabas released from prison against Jesus crucification. We all support Dr. Tharooor the great son of Kerala for his courage, brave act in bringing the IPL to kerala albeit the hourse trading efforts of the wicked. Comment by Dr.Sam Cherian

Remember Barabbas? The one spared in lieu of Jesus?
According to the Gospels, Jesus had no particular quarrel with Rome/Jews and did not violate Roman law.
And yet he was punished by the Romans and Jews alike.
Pilate entered the praetorium again and called Jesus, and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?"
Pilate said to him, "So you are a king?"
Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king.

." Pilate went out to the Jews again, and told them, "I find no crime in him. But you have a custom that I should release one prisoner/robber for you at the Passover, whom you want me to release The Robber, Brabbas or this innocent Jesus?
They (people)cried out again, "Not this man, but Barab'bas!" Now Barab'bas was a robber.

This incident happened about 2000 years ago.
But now in India/ indian parliament, some what same incident happened,Just like Roman Governer Pilate washed his hand telling " I do not find any fault in this man"- But I will obey you people to release The Robber and will let Jesus to be crucified, However, I do not have any part in his blood,

Just like that Dr. Manmohan and his Government washed their hands- Putting this Brave Son Of Kerala to Resign.

But rememeber, As Jesus resurrected on Third Day
Our Great Son Of Kerala will come back in short time with Much Power and Wisdon, All who punished will be a Ashamed for sure.
Jai Jai Dr. Tharoor,
Jai Kerala
