A dating site exclusively for beautiful people has denied membership to 1.8 million "ugly" people since it went live globally on 26 October.


Though anyone can apply for entry into BeautifulPeople.com, only those are admitted who manage to secure enough votes from existing members of the opposite sex. So if they aren't impressed by your looks—bam, door's shut.

According to a Telegraph report, the website was founded in 2002 in Denmark.

Sweden, Brazil and Norway are proving to be the most beautiful countries overall, with applicants from Germany and the UK among the least successful.

In a press release, the website promises a lot of benefits , including:

• Approaches by film and TV firms
  
• Potential contracts from top modelling agencies
